Nancy Whiteman
Nancy Whiteman is an American artist who relocated to Portugal in 2020. Her work explores the dichotomies that shape her life—precision and spontaneity, control and discovery, surface and depth. Working across acrylic landscapes, mixed-media abstractions, and portraiture, she often sands away top layers of paint to expose the hidden textures and histories beneath, inviting viewers to look beyond what is immediately visible.
Nancy lives in Vila Real de Santo António with her wife, Denise, and their dog, Onix.

Seu trabalho explora as dicotomias que moldam sua vida — precisão e espontaneidade, controle e descoberta, superfície e profundidade. Trabalhando com paisagens em acrílico, abstrações em técnica mista e retratos, ela frequentemente lixa as camadas superficiais de tinta para expor as texturas e histórias ocultas por baixo, convidando o espectador a olhar além do que é imediatamente visível.
Nancy vive em Vila Real de Santo António com sua esposa, Denise, e seu cachorro, Onix.
