George Hay
George Hay draws on a multidisciplinary background that spans interior design, bespoke furniture making, blacksmithing, and film prop fabrication. His hands-on experience in a wide range of materials is rooted in the principles of Biogeometry—an explorative science of subtle energy—which he weaves together with the sensibilities of traditional craft. George is particularly interested in discovering alternative applications for locally sourced materials. In this series, he focuses on the interplay between cement and Portuguese terracotta. The works are composed from reclaimed roof tiles bound with cement, enriched with elements such as sea sand, shells, and stones. These additions introduce organic texture and a sense of lived material history, merging the structural with the elemental.
George Hay
