Isabel Lopes

Born in Miranda do Douro with roots in Galicia and North of Portugal. I lived and worked in North Portugal, Angola, Morocco, and Azores. I’ve been living in Algarve since 2017.

I started painting in late 2017 to learn techniques, especially oil painting. I developed figurative art, especially faces and bodies, with a focus on expression.

All non-linguistic expression, whether facial, bodily, artistic, sexual, cultural, or otherwise, conveys information. It's up to each person to interpret it accordingly to their knowledge, emotions, values, and personal experiences.

For me, painting is brushing a blank canvas with paints, feelings and emotions leaving it full of expression.

Comecei a pintar em final 2017, para aprender técnicas, especialmente pintura a óleo. Desenvolvi arte figurativa, especialmente rostos e corpos, com relevância na expressão.

Toda a expressão não linguística, seja facial, corporal, artística, sexual, cultural ou outra transmite informação. Cabe a cada um interpretá-la segundo os nossos conhecimentos, emoções, valores e experiências pessoais.

Para mim, pintar é pincelar uma tela vazia com tintas, sentimentos e emoções e deixá-la repleta de expressão.
