Chantel van Leeuwen

Dutch artist Chantal van Leeuwen studied textile, fashion and interior design, with a strong focus on model drawing, abstract art and composition. She later immersed herself for three years in 17th‑century painting techniques. Now living in the Algarve, she dedicates herself to art and interior decoration, drawing inspiration from her life experiences. She paints portraits on antique door panels and her canvases holding space for what cannot be spoken, an awakening beyond the visible. “Painting becomes a meditation on change — a reflection of the soul’s journey toward deeper awareness.”

A artista holandesa Chantal van Leeuwen estudou têxteis, moda e design de interiores, com forte enfoque em desenho de modelos, arte abstrata e composição. Posteriormente, dedicou-se durante três anos às técnicas de pintura do século XVII. Atualmente vivendo no Algarve, ela se dedica à arte e à decoração de interiores, inspirando-se em suas experiências de vida. Pinta retratos em painéis de portas antigas e suas telas criam um espaço para o que não pode ser dito, um despertar para além do visível.
