“From nothing to something that breathes.”

I have always loved the quiet magic of creating something from nothing.

I do not paint constantly. Instead, I wait. Somewhere beneath the surface a small feeling begins to stir — a whisper of an idea, a colour, a movement that refuses to be ignored. When that moment arrives, I step toward the blank canvas, never quite knowing what will emerge.

What always surprises me is the way the image begins to flow, as if it already existed and I am simply helping it find its way into the world. When the painting is finished and I step back, there is always a moment of disbelief. Did I really create that? It is a feeling that fills me with quiet joy — the kind that makes you smile from somewhere deep inside.

My journey with art began at school and continued into art college, but life — as it often does — carried me along different paths. For many years painting waited patiently in the background.

It was during the stillness of the Covid lockdown that the passion returned. In an unexpected way, that strange and difficult moment in time reignited something essential in me. From something so unsettling came something deeply fulfilling. Painting once again became a place of calm, expression, and discovery.

My work is diverse, guided by colour, movement, and emotion. Each piece is a journey — a conversation between instinct and imagination.

And my greatest hope is simple: that you feel even a small part of the joy I felt while bringing these works to life..

“Do nada a algo que respira.”

Sempre adorei a magia silenciosa de criar algo a partir do nada.

Não pinto constantemente. Em vez disso, espero. Algures sob a superfície, um pequeno sentimento começa a agitar-se — um sussurro de uma ideia, uma cor, um movimento que se recusa a ser ignorado. Quando esse momento chega, dou um passo em direção ao ecrã em branco, sem nunca saber ao certo o que vai surgir.

O que me surpreende sempre é a forma como a imagem começa a fluir, como se já existisse e eu estivesse simplesmente a ajudá-la a encontrar o seu caminho para o mundo. Quando a pintura está terminada e dou um passo atrás, há sempre um momento de incredulidade. Será que fui mesmo eu que criei isso? É um sentimento que me enche de uma alegria silenciosa — daquelas que nos fazem sorrir lá do fundo.

A minha jornada com a arte começou na escola e continuou na faculdade de artes, mas a vida — como costuma acontecer — levou-me por caminhos diferentes. Durante muitos anos, a pintura esperou pacientemente em segundo plano.

Foi durante a quietude do confinamento da Covid que a paixão regressou. De uma forma inesperada, aquele momento estranho e difícil reacendeu algo essencial em mim. De algo tão perturbador surgiu algo profundamente gratificante. A pintura tornou-se, mais uma vez, um local de calma, expressão e descoberta.

O meu trabalho é diverso, guiado pela cor, pelo movimento e pela emoção. Cada obra é uma viagem — uma conversa entre o instinto e a imaginação.

E a minha maior esperança é simples: que sinta pelo menos uma pequena parte da alegria que eu senti ao dar vida a estas obras.
