Thea Booijink
Thea Booijink is a Dutch artist who lives in the north of the Algarve, in São Marcos da Serra. After different careers she found the time to develop herself and became a fulltime painter.
She loves to be surrounded by the hills and the untouched nature she experiences on that spot. Outside, on endless hikes she gets her inspiration.
Her brushstrokes reflect the feelings that nature evokes in her. She is often guided by the figurative forms that she observes. Flowing water, a burnt tree stump, plant leaves, flowers and withered wood are an inexhaustible source in her work. The translation is a quest to find a harmony between expression and realism.
She is a self-taught artist and works mostly with acrylics. Her work is spread over Europe: Germany, France, Portugal and the Netherlands.

Thea Booijink é uma artista holandesa que vive no norte do Algarve, em São Marcos da Serra. Após diferentes carreiras, encontrou tempo para se desenvolver e tornou-se pintora a tempo inteiro.
Adora estar rodeada pelas colinas e pela natureza intocada que vivencia naquele local. Lá fora, em caminhadas intermináveis, ela vai buscar inspiração.
As suas pinceladas refletem os sentimentos que a natureza nela evoca. É frequentemente guiada pelas formas figurativas que observa. Água corrente, um cepo de árvore queimado, folhas de plantas, flores e madeira murcha são uma fonte inesgotável no seu trabalho. A tradução é uma procura de harmonia entre a expressão e o realismo.
É uma artista autodidata e trabalha principalmente com acrílicos. O seu trabalho está espalhado pela Europa: Alemanha, França, Portugal e Holanda.
